What Is a Data Transformation?
Data transformation is the process of converting, restructuring, or manipulating raw data in order to prepare it for analysis, reporting, or storage. Its purpose is to improve data quality, relevance, and usability, and it is a key factor in an organization’s ability to drive business intelligence, analytics, machine learning, and other applications.
However, it’s essential that organizations build data security into their data transformation – or else they risk the potential that sensitive data will be exposed during the process. In order to unlock next-gen use cases and get more value from data, infusing security into transformations should be a priority.
In this video, Dave Abrahams, Executive General Manager at IAG, discusses how his team is creating value through data transformation, and Immuta’s contributing role as IAG’s data governance policy engine.
